Method

Mangerly publishes what manufacturers declare about their horse feeds and supplements, and shows where each value came from. This page explains how a value gets into Mangerly, what its status means, and the rules that keep the index independent.

Where values come from

Only from the manufacturer: its own product page, its datasheet or a photo of the label. Never from a webshop, a reseller or another database. We honour every website's robots.txt.

We keep a copy of the page text we read, so a value can always be traced back to the exact sentence, even after the manufacturer changes its website.

How a value is read

Software reads the value, its unit and the sentence it appears in, and records where that sentence sits on the page. Units and bases (per kg as fed, per kg dry matter, per dose) are converted by fixed rules, never estimated by a language model. Values that a manufacturer does not declare are marked as not declared, never as zero.

Energy and protein values are shown as the manufacturer declares them, with their source and system. Mangerly does not calculate values in other systems (for example EW-pa, UFC or DE): your own ration software does that from the declared values.

Review status

Every product shows its status:

• Extracted, not yet reviewed: read from the source, not yet checked by a person.
• Reviewed on date: a reviewer compared every value with its quote.
• Confirmed by the manufacturer on date: the brand checked the values against its own records.

Products are reviewed in an order we publish: requests from professionals first, then how often a product is searched, then market presence. Never by who pays.

Corrections

Anyone can report an error. Every correction is logged with its reason, the value before and after, and the date. A value is never changed silently. When a manufacturer changes a recipe, the new recipe becomes a new version; the old version stays available for rations that used it.

Independence policy {#independence}

1. Every product of every brand is listed, whether or not its maker pays.
2. Money never buys position. No paid ranking, no sponsored results, no badge inside comparisons, no influence on sort order.
3. Confirmation is free. Any brand can claim its account and confirm or correct its data at no cost. A subscription buys tools and insight, not a better or faster place in the review queue.
4. Partners are thanked, not favoured. Partner logos appear on the home page and the partners page only. Partners have no say over data, reviews or corrections, and see no individual user data.
5. Equal treatment. Competitors of partners and subscribers are treated exactly the same.
6. No single partner provides more than 15 % of our income.
7. Open corrections. The corrections log is visible to all signed-in users.

Always check the current label

Mangerly reproduces manufacturers' declarations as published on the date shown, with care and on a best-effort basis, without warranty. Declarations can be incomplete or inaccurate, and recipes change. Before using data in advice, check it against the current label. Mangerly data is not veterinary advice.
